Lasalle Park Burlington Spring

Downtown Burlington Parks

Downtown Burlington has some great parks that are worth checking out if you’re new to the city or if you just haven’t been in a while. Today we’re going to talk about 3 that are located in downtown Burlington, Spencer Smith Park, Royal Botanical Gardens and LaSalle Park.

Spencer Smith Park

Home to the Sound of Music festival held in downtown Burlington at Spencer Smith Park. The park is busy all year round with different events as well but the most notable is the Sound of Music, usually mid-June. The next well known festival is Canada’s Largest Ribfest. Bringing in thousands from all over southern Ontario and New York State. Ribfest takes place during Labour Day weekend and is a 4 day event.

The park is open 24 hours a day and is located at 1400 Lakeshore Rd on the shore of Lake Ontario. The show stopper has to be the Burlington Pier that opened in June 2013. Now that you’ve seen Spencer Smith Park it’s time to head over to the Royal Botanical Gardens.

LaSalle Park

A stunning little park located on the shore of Lake Ontario, LaSalle Park has great walking trails suitable for any age. The park is located at 50 North Shore Blvd in the heart of Burlingtons Aldershot nieghbourhood. LaSalle also has a great green space and a historic pavilion which is a popular wedding venue.

Other features of the park include two baseball diamonds, boat launch, wadding pool, marina, bocci ball court and a playground. There are so many more than just these three. And if you want some advice or are looking to see your home Lori can help with that as well.
