One of the joys of the spring season is the spring cleaning of your home. That&#8217;s right! It&#8217;s time to wash everything and clean those hard-to-reach places..<\/p>\n<p>As a <a title=\"Burlington real estate agent\" href=\"https:\/\/www.loriv.com\/team\/vandinther.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Burlington\u00a0realtor<\/a>\u00a0and a homeowner myself, I understand the importance of spring cleaning. Besides the obvious&#8211;it\u00a0makes your home more appealing and enjoyable,\u00a0it&#8217;s also very important for your health and mental well being. Although\u00a0it can seem daunting at first, it\u00a0can\u00a0be a lot of fun if you break it down into\u00a0manageable\u00a0chunks. It&#8217;s only once a year! Here are some of my favourite spring cleaning tips. If you have some to share, just post it in your comments below..<\/p>\n<p>First of all, do you have:<br \/>\nAnything in kitchen or bathroom that&#8217;s expired? get rid of it!<br \/>\nAnything in kitchen or bathroom that you never used and don&#8217;t plan to? get rid of it!<br \/>\nAnything remaining that needs organizing? get to that first.<\/p>\n<p>Next you can tackle your:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Clothes<\/strong> &#8211; look at your winter clothing, what\u00a0didn&#8217;t\u00a0you wear at all? get rid of it &#8211; you probably wont be wearing it next year either. The items you did use, put them away.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beds<\/strong> &#8211; inspect the\u00a0mattresses, flip them, perhaps it&#8217;s time for new pillows?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Appliances<\/strong> &#8211; clean behind your fridge, stove,\u00a0dishwasher. Microwave &#8211; don&#8217;t forget to wipe the inside.\u00a0Vacuum\u00a0the fridge coils, and clean the drain pan &#8211; your fridge will last longer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Heating\/Cooling<\/strong> &#8211; clean the main air filter and all the small air duct filters in each room<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ceiling Fans<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; wipe down the dust from the blades before you turn the fan on and spread all that dust everywhere<\/p>\n<p><strong>Windows and mirrors<\/strong> &#8211; clean your windows inside and outside, wash your blinds\/drapes\/curtains, shine that mirror<\/p>\n<p><strong>Floors<\/strong> &#8211; vacuum and wash your carpets, wash the floors, dust the ceiling corners etc..<\/p>\n<p><strong>Patio and fence<\/strong> &#8211; check their state, clean up your grill, clean up patio furniture, soon as the weather gets even nicer, you&#8217;ll be spending a lot of time here so you want to enjoy it<\/p>\n<p>Getting\u00a0the whole family to help would make this whole\u00a0experience\u00a0easier, make sure you include a task for everyone and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">throw in a reward at the end<\/span> for\u00a0getting\u00a0the job done!<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Although\u00a0winter is still lingering around Burlington, spring is officially here and the temperatures should be getting warmer soon!
